The Complete Emirates Airbus 380 Experience in detail: http://www.youtube.com/seatgurus - Airbus A380 In-flight Economy Experience on Emirates Airlines - Tips on ultra long distance flights. (With Narration and Annotations. Details below). Information on the Casio Watch seen on video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IrfvOzlvrU Airline: Emirates Airlines Equipment: Airbus A380 Genre: Complete In-Flight Flying Experience on Emirates Airbus A380 Route: DUBAI - NEW YORK (JFK) Subscribe for Upcoming Videos - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=seatgurus My 20 Tips on Flying an Airbus A380 (in no particular order) #1 Book early and go online and select your seat. Keep in mind that you cannot lean your head against windows (and sleep). #2 Carry an empty plastic bottle and ask the crew to fill it up with water. To land fresh you must drink a lot of water and the small glasses that serve you are not enough and you'll end up pissing the crew off by constantly asking for water. Ideally start hydrating a week before your trip! #3 As you plan your trip, start working out or walking 30 mins a day... in other words, the fitter you are the less of a strain upon arrival. #4 Remember, you are going to have a long line at the Immigration counters with over 450 passengers on this plane. And add to the number of bags that you'll find on the belt, its going to take some time to get out - so if you have connecting flights make sure its at least 3-5 hours in hand to catch that flight. #5 Always ask for special meals. Those meals come first and you will be done before the folks next to you get their food. You wont be jousting elbows over that piece of respective chicken. Plus, the food is piping hot. #6 If its a all day flight, try get a little nap but if its an overnight flight, try getting sleep by popping a pill. Maybe a over the counter sleeping aid. #7 Dont drink beer etc. You are only going to dehydrate yourself. #8 Always take your contact lenses off. If you dont wear lenses, always carry eyedrops..your eyes will get dry on these ultra long distant flights #9 Always carry lip balm/chapstick, extra pair of pants and t-shirt. U saw what happened to me, luckily the seatbelt saved my day or else I would have changed. If I didnt have a change - disaster lol. #10 Sit on any first row of seats in the respective four section of economy. Plenty of legspace and easy to move about. #11 This aircraft has no lounge area in economy, so taking a walk for circulation is tough call. If you really have to stretch then go right in front (where you saw me putting on my shoes). It quiet there too #12 Carry a book, just in case you cant find anything good to watch (which I highly doubt cos there are tons of movies etc). Or, just in case your screen does not work!! #13 DO NOT keep an ink pen in your pocket. It will leak and ruin your shirt/pant (due to the air pressure) #14 Make sure you get your USB cable with you so you can keep your phone charged (peace of mind). #15 No point zipping out your state of the art laptop in economy - you wont have room to really enjoy! #16 Jetlag. Remember, when you fly West - you are going to feel sleepy early and you'll wake up early for a few days upon arrival. Flying East - you will goto bed later and wake up later (which is a problem). That is why, flying east is bad in terms of jetlag because not everyone can sleep in late, so you tend to get tired easy as the day goes by....so try adjust accordingly. #17 When you check in - ask them to put FRAGILE sticker on ur bags. Those bags are loaded at the end (on top) and taken off first. However, with the A380 - there are just too many bags for this strategy to work #18 Dont eat Indian curry etc day before or during the flight. It may give you bad case of gas! That is why you will always see me eat the bland seafood! #19 Wear loose shoes #20 Finally, just enjoy the ride, you wont be doing this everyday! Cheers....and hope this helped. Happy flying!

Hi, Pauline here Do Want an Emirates Career? I’ve looked all over the web and the information on the Emirates Open Day just isn’t specific enough You’re right. There is a TON of stuff out there on the web, that whilst really good, simply isn’t specific enough to be of much help to you.So, you may find yourself going to cabin crew forums where you will encounter THOUSANDS of people looking for advice but not really that many people offering it. And the information they are offering is too general and not detailed enough to be of much use to you. I really need to know the nitty-gritty of what happens at the Emirates Open Day I’m with you there! I bet you already know that you should wear “smart, business attire” (what is that by the way?) to the Emirates Open Day and you should match your CV to the job specification blah blah blah but you need the nitty-gritty right? You need to know exactly what happens at the Emirate open days and what’s involved in the WHOLE process of becoming Emirates cabin crew (and, of course, an Emirates flight attendant- see I haven’t forgotten!) So, how exactly do Emirates Airlines Recruit? I am asked all the time about how the Emirates interview process works, so I am going to tell you in great detail EXACTLY what’s involved, why Emirates Airlines include it in the process and what they are looking for at each stage. So, let’s look at how the specific process for Emirates Airlines works. Before I begin though, I should just point out that the order of events may change slightly depending on where your Open Day is, the number of attendees at the Open Day and it may take place over one day or several days. A screening process? Sounds quite scary, tell me more… The screening process, regardless of length, consists of the following elements: Online application. I think that even if you are attending an Emirates Open Day that’s available to anyone walking in off the street, it’s best to fill in the online application before the event. Attend an Emirates Open Day event. This event varies depending on the country you are in. Sometimes it’s open to people walking in off the street, other times you may have to register in advance to attend. So, let’s get back to the Open Day event. A wee word of warning- these Emirates Open Days are also set-up as punctuality tests, so if you’re not in the room you should be by the published start time, you’re out for good! Give yourself TONS of time to get there and be friendly to EVERYONE you meet. Why do I need to demonstrate great listening skills? When you check-in for the Emirates Open Day you will be give a sticker which you will be expected to wear for the ENTIRE event, so please don’t take it off as it doesn’t match your lipstick as this will simply show you up as someone who can’t take instruction well (which is SO important when working as cabin crew!). The number on this sticker is how you will be identified throughout the process, so make sure you listen out for it. Don’t let the Emirates recruiters shout out “No.24” repeatedly, to then look down and realise you are number 24- you won’t look good! So make sure you know your number and you listen out for it. Again, remember, to be Emirates cabin crew (or an Emirates flight attendant!) you will need to be good at listening to your passenger’s requests, so you need to show the recruiters that you are a great listener by listening intently to everything being said during the day. What does the Emirates Airline representative talk about? Once everyone has arrived and been given a sticker, you will watch a promotional video about Emirates Airlines and life as a member of Emirates cabin crew. A representative from the airline will then give you a talk about what it’s like to be cabin crew with Emirates Airlines and life in Dubai. The representative will talk about things such as the Emirates flight attendant salary and what life is like when you fly emirates. You will then be asked if anyone has any questions Oh no, I’ve heard the CV handover is really scary and it’s like walking a catwalk? Following any questions from applicants, the first major screening event occurs- the CV handover. Several tables will be set-up at the head of the room and you will need to submit your CV to the appropriate location you have been issued. Again, this is where listening is important! What, that’s it? The Emirates Open day is over? There will usually then be a break for lunch and only those applicants that have passed the CV handover will return for the rest of the day. It’s really worth noting that you will have very limited to NO interaction with your Emirates recruiters before this stage, so the entire screening event is based on your CV and your personal presentation so remember- FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT! To find out more please read my blog http://mondrago.co.uk/emirates-careers/

Established in 1971, the United Arab Emirates is a relatively young Arab country that has experienced a huge surge in prosperity in recent years. Guided by wise leadership, the economic boom has fostered a stable, cosmopolitan society that has successfully integrated traditional Islamic values into a determined development programme, enabling the country to take its place amongst the emerging nations of the world. Physically, the UAE is a land of contrasts: massive sand-dunes, fertile palm-filled oases, vast stretches of mesmerising desert, low-lying coastal plains, sandy beaches, hundreds of natural islands, and rugged rocky mountains are just some of the dramatic landscapes encountered in its territory. Politically, the UAE is a federation of seven emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Qaiwain, Ra's al-Khaimah and Fujairah) with a constitutionally-based political system that is a unique blend of the traditional and modern. Abu Dhabi City is the capital of the UAE and the seat of the federal government. HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, is the current President of the UAE and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, is Vice President and Prime Minister. The Supreme Council, made up of the hereditary rulers of the seven emirates, is the top policy-making body in the state, whilst a Council or Cabinet of ministers, four of whom are women, acts as the executive authority for the federation. The UAE's parliament, the Federal National Council, a section of which is indirectly elected and nine of whose members are women, has both a legislative and supervisory role. In addition, each of the seven emirates has its own local government, the complexity of which differs according to the size and population of individual emirates. Although a comparatively young nation, the UAE has taken its place on the world stage, guided by a principled foreign policy that is based on support for and engagement with international institutions such as the United Nations. When the federation was formed in 1971, the UAE had little or no physical infrastructure, health care or educational facilities, industry was non-existent and most of the country's scant population lived in the desert or in the foothills of the mountains. It has come a long way since then: rapid urbanisation has been the norm (over 80 per cent of the country's residents live in major towns and cities) and the UAE's infrastructure is world-class. Rich natural resources in the form of oil, which was first exported in the 1960s, has enabled much of this prosperity: today, the UAE boasts a vibrant free economy and successful efforts have been made to diversify away from dependence on oil and gas exports. So much so that a solid industrial base has been created together with a very strong services sector, enabling the country to meet the challenges and opportunities of the new era.
